Photos: Niko’s Celebration of Life at Little Fruit Farm Montessori

The Montessori Celebration of Life allows the children to contemplate what a birthday actually symbolizes. In preparation for the celebration of Niko’s 3rd birthday, a display was set up with a candle in the middle of a rug, representing the sun.  Niko then held the globe, while the other children formed a circle around the candle. As we sang the song below, Niko circled around the group, just as the earth does the sun, while his father displayed a photo depicting Niko at each birthday.

As it was also Ms. Lauren’s birthday, several parents surprised the group with balloons and cupcakes. Much to the delight of the children, especially our other little toddler, Solin!
